Ingredients

  • 1 of pkt. glass noodle

  • 1/4 cup of tamarind juice

  • 1/2 tbsp. of Sugar

  • 1.5 tbsp. of Palm sugar

  • 1/4 cup of water

  • 1/2 tbsp. of Ketchup

  • 1.5 tbsp. of Fish sauce

  • 3 tbsp. of Vegetable oil

  • 1 clove of Garlic

  • 1 pc. of Shallot

  • 10 pcs. of Prawn

  • 60 g. of Bean sprout

  • 50 g. of Chive

  • 1 tbsp. of Roasted peanut

  • 25 g. of Tofu

Steps

  • Mix all ingredients below for Pad thai sauce
  • Fried shallot + garlic with low heat•add pad thai sauce bring to boil and reduce + add water • add prawn cooking to half cooked way • add Glass noodle fry until absorb and cooked • add tofu + bean sprout + chive + roasted peanut + egg • Done..!!??

I was hesitant to make this when I saw the choice of noodles and the omission of either tamarind paste or fish sauce. After making it per the recipe given, it was pleasant enough if not a bit bland. The sauce didn't have the Pad Thai flavor that I expected and have experienced in good Thai restaurants. Once sugar is melting, keep stirring until it darkens in colour (see video for colour). Immediately add water, fish sauce, and tamarind paste—sugar will harden immediately, this is okay.
