The ingredients needed to make Hoisin Grilled Salmon:

  • 4 medium of Salmon filets, approximately 6 ounces each (could do 6 portions with the marinade)

  • 1/3 cup of Hoisin sauce

  • 3 tbsp of Soy sauce

  • 3 tbsp of Orange or pineapple juice

  • 1 tsp of Granulated garlic

  • 2 tsp of Ginger paste

  • 1 tbsp of Brown sugar or honey

  • 1 pinch of Red pepper flakes, optional

Steps to make Hoisin Grilled Salmon:

  • Mix all ingredients except salmon.
  • Roll the salmon in marinade and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  • Grill salmon and baste with any remaining marinade. My salmon took about 5 minutes per side. But cooking times will vary according to the thickness of the salmon.

Instructions Pat salmon dry and season with salt and pepper to taste. In a bowl, combine hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, Sriracha hot sauce (if using), sesame oil, ginger, and garlic. To make the hoisin glaze, puree the soy sauce, water, hoisin, garlic, ginger, honey, and juice of one lime in a blender or food processor. Transfer to a skillet over medium high heat. Simmer until the mixture reduces to a syrupy consistency that will stick to the salmon when brushed on.
