Pan Seared Salmon

Pan Seared Salmon. Place in skillet, and increase heat to high. Sprinkle with capers, and salt and pepper. Alton Brown teaches his simple method for perfectly pan-searing wild salmon. Season the salmon with the salt and a few grinds of pepper. Carefully flip the fillets and reduce the heat to medium. To cook Pan Seared Salmon you need 8 ingredients and 4 steps easily.

The ingredients needed to make Pan Seared Salmon:

  • 2 of salmon fillets

  • 1 tbsp of brown sugar

  • 1/4 tsp of salt or to taste

  • 1/2 tsp of black pepper

  • 1 cup of olive oil, extra virgin

  • 1 tsp of dry parsley

  • 1/2 tsp of cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp of granulated sugar

Steps to make Pan Seared Salmon:

  • Using a castiron skillet or heavy frying pan heat to medium.
  • Coat fillets in olive oil on both sides.
  • Mix all dry ingredients in a bowl and sprinkle on the side opposite of the skin.
  • Place fillets face down, reduce heat slightly, let cook for 7 minutes flip on opposite side and let cook for 5 minutes or until desire crisps.

The salmon fillets get seared to golden brown in a little olive oil until they're cooked through. The next step is to remove the salmon from the pan and make a sauce of melted butter, garlic and lemon. Add the salmon back to the pan and spoon the sauce over the top.
